the people who never left

we are all trenchers.

a trencher is someone who spends an unreasonable amount of time trying to find the next thing before everyone else does. sixteen hours a day on the timeline, checking launches, watching wallets, reading replies, sitting in group chats, rotating through narratives, and staring at charts that probably should not matter as much as they do.

it sounds ridiculous because it is ridiculous. but somewhere along the way, trenching became an actual occupation.

there are no shifts and no weekends. the market runs constantly, so the job does too. you wake up and check what happened while you were asleep. you find something at 40k, watch it go to 400k, roundtrip it, complain for five minutes, and start looking for the next one. you learn which wallets matter, which accounts move attention, which launches have life, and which new meta is starting to form before it has a name.

most people will never understand why anyone does this.

they will see the winners after the fact. they will see the screenshots, the huge candles, the coins that escape the trenches and become recognizable everywhere. they do not see the thousands of dead launches, terrible entries, rugs, missed sells, 3am calls, and hours of nothing that came before them.

that is trenching.

and lately, it feels like the light is starting to come back.

the products are improving. trading is becoming social again. everything is getting faster and easier to use. attention is returning. people who disappeared are showing up on the timeline again, and eventually retail and normies will arrive and wonder where all of this came from.

we know where it came from.

it came from the people who never left.

the people who kept trading when nothing was moving. the people launching stupid ideas because one of them might work. the people finding a 200-follower account before everyone suddenly knows the name. the people willing to spend sixteen hours looking through absolute garbage because buried somewhere inside it might be the next thing.

there is no qualification for being a trencher. you can have $100 or $10 million. you can be a trader, dev, caller, reply guy, founder, or the person who somehow always finds the coin before the group chat does.

if you are still here looking for the next one, you already know.
